Torrance, incorporated in 1921, covers 21 square miles and is home to 146,860 residents. Torrance has 1.5 miles of lifeguard-patrolled beach, 90,000 street trees, and 550 miles of sidewalks. A collection of 5 main areas- South, North, West, Central, and Southeast Torrance. Annual events include The Armed Forces Day Parade & Celebration, Cherry Blossom Festival, and concerts in the park. The recently renovated Del Amo mall is the 6th largest mall in the United States and spans over 2.5 million square feet.
